ACADEMIC SCHOOL
Kindergarten Program:
Our Kindergarten curriculum is enshrined in the belief that children learn best with interactive hands-on, play-based activities, which develop their fine and gross motor skills. At OMA, our mission and vision is that we create a safe Islamic environment for our Muslim students to flourish in. Our professionally trained and certified teachers focus on providing our Kindergartners with social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our students are immersed with all the core subjects from; reading, math, science, social studies, as well as, Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qur’an. The teachers ensure that your children engage in their creative side, in order to enhance their fine motor skills, and to allow their artistic talents to bloom. For their physical development, our Kindergartners have daily outdoor activities in our outdoor play area and newly renovated gym. Students are encouraged to indulge in sports-related activities to augment their gross motor skills.
Grade 1 to Grade 5:
Our lower elementary school curriculum is unique in that it offers all the core subjects ranging from English to Math and Science, whilst also catering for Arabic, Qur’an, and Islamic Studies. We have a daily assigned schedule for physical education and arts/crafts. The OMA staff are extremely mindful of integrating technology with education, as they are aware of the demands imposed by today’s era. With this in mind, we respect the fact that we have entered a digital era, and therefore, we have added Computer Science as part of our curriculum. Elementary school students are exposed and immersed in an Islamic-rich environment. Each and every concept is embellished from an Islamic angle, to enable our students to be aware of their every action throughout their lives. Our students are taught to become respectable and serving citizens of their country, and at the same time, pursue the fundamental teachings of our religion and follow the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Grade 6 to Grade 8:
OMA promises to explore and deliver new pursuits in teaching and learning. As a private school, we are blessed to have the flexibility to design our curriculum to meet our students’ needs, but at the same time, we do meet and exceed the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum. Our curriculum is entrenched in the love of learning through visual and auditory measures. We cover all facets of academic learning from the core subjects, to science and social studies, and still concentrate upon Arabic, Qur’an, and Islamic Studies. We also understand the need for students to be engaged in physical education, as well as explore their artistic and creative talents. Therefore, we have added a Health and Lifestyles class for our students to give them an opportunity to explore their impeccable creativity! Just because we deliver all areas of mainstream education, we never compromise upon a safe Islamic environment. Islam is at the core of our students’ daily lives. Students are segregated upon their gender, wherever, and whenever possible. We provide an extremely safe environment, to prevent our precious Muslim youth from becoming contaminated with any corruptible influences and ensure they follow the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Hifz Program (Boys & Girls)
Hifz-ul-Qur’an classes are conducted by qualified and experiences teachers with a low teacher-student ratio. The Hifz program is based on the balanced approach between the preservation of the previous work committed to memory as well as mastery of the new lessons: new lesson (Sabaq), last quarter (Sabaq Para) and all-juz memorized (Daur). Following are some of the details of the program:
- Entrance criteria are for student and parent to have a desire to do hifz-ul-Qur’an.
- Each student will be required to master Nazeerah (reading Qur’an) and the art of recitation (tajweed rules) before moving unto hifz-ul-Qur’an.
- Standards and rubrics have been developed to assist in making students successful in Hifz-ul-Qur’an.
- A weekly/monthly planner for each student will be developed with the student and parent’s involvement and commitment. The planning and tracking will take into consideration motivating the student towards success.
2. Teach the art of Quranic memorization to children and adults
3. Lead the congregational Salah
4. Lead the Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan
With our unique integrated model, the Hifz coursework can be completed simultaneously with academic studies.
